Classes at the Playhouse

The Playhouse is host to some independant groups who use the theatre as a place to hold their classes on a weekly basis.

AliCaT (Children and Theatre) AliCaT is an established and exciting performance based theatre company.

The company was set up in 2009 and since then has enjoyed overwhelming success and popularity. AliCaT focuses on building theatre skills such as acting, voice, movement and dance but also on important personal attributes such as confidence and social skills. The sessions involve a variety of fun and stimulating games, drama activities, performance projects and RYE (Research on Yoga in Education). The classes run in term time only and work towards an annual performance that can be enjoyed by friends and family.

AliCaT is based in North Somerset in the Backwell Playhouse, both rehearsals and performances take place here. The Playhouse is the perfect backdrop for the AliCaT sessions as it not only provides a safe and friendly environment it also promotes a real theatre experience which is integral to the vision of the company.

AliCaT is currently expanding and adding additional groups to run alongside the established ones. The new groups will start as of September 2011. There is limited spaces so if you or someone you know is interested in getting involved in an exciting theatre company please get in touch.
