INCH by IN:CH Travelling Art Exhibition
Saturday 07 Aug 2021
Open Event but if you want to book onto a workshop, visit IN:CH EventBrite
|A travelling exhibition considering transition, interchange and the transportation of ideas.|
Inch by IN:CH is an artist-led project organised and curated by ‘Incubation Chamber’ (IN:CH) an artists group based in Bath. Bringing contemporary art out of the protected space of studios and galleries and into communal areas of our everyday lives.
The 11 artists involved, all based in the South West, reflect a variety of art forms but share a focus on the transitive nature of thinking.
Participating artists will each present work in a travel case to form a portable touring exhibition. The artworks include painting, assemblage, projections and sculptural installations, while some blur the boundaries between.
Through these small- scale works, ideas will be shared and transported from one place to the next.
Bridging the gap between art and life.
Engaging with local communities.
Bringing the conversation home.
You can learn more about the INCH by IN:CH travelling exhibition at their website http://www.inchbyinch.uk, where you can see pictures of some of the exhibits, hear the artists talking about the tour, and discover where else they are visiting.
The free exhibition will be using the unique opportunities our theatre can bring, as the installation will combine shadows with atmospheric sounds for inspiration. As well as the exhibition, there will be free workshops at 1pm and 2pm where you can join the artists for some relaxed and experimental drawing inside the theatre.
The exhibition will be open from 12-3pm on Saturday 7th August and all are invited to come along and enjoy this amazing experience. The exhibition is free to enter, and as always there is free parking onsite. The foyer bar will be open during the afternoon and will take card and cash payments.
